The Importance of Charity and Its Law for Muslims
Muslimeu - Sadaqah is the gift of a Muslim to another person sincerely without being limited by a certain time and amount. Alms is broader than just zakat and infaq. Alms does not only mean removing or donating wealth, but includes all good deeds or deeds.
Is it the law to give alms?
Sunnah, meaning for those who do it, Allah will reward him, while for those who leave it, Allah will not punish him with sin.
Haram, that is, if the person giving alms already knows for sure that what he will donate will later be used by the recipient of alms for disobedience.
Mandatory, that is, if alms are given to people who really need it while we are in a state of having what they need. For example, we have food while there are people who are hungry, then it is obligatory for us to give charity. In addition, the law of alms also becomes obligatory when someone vows to give alms.
Allah says in Surah An-Nisa Verse 114 which means:
"There is no good in most of their whispers, except (whispering) those who command alms, or do good, or make peace between people. And whoever does it with the intention of seeking the pleasure of Allah, We will surely give him a reward. reward. great reward."
In the letter it is explained that giving charity is an effort to seek the pleasure of Allah. Alms invites reward and goodness for the implementer.
The law of giving charity in Islam is sunnah or recommended. So if you do it will bring reward and goodness. If left unchecked also does not bring sin.
However, alms can change its law to become obligatory if a Muslim is able and sufficient to meet the needs of others in need.
Allah loves those who give charity as quoted from Surah Al-Baqarah verse 276 which means:
“Allah destroys usury and enriches alms. Allah does not like those who remain in disbelief and are full of sin.”
The most important alms hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah R.A. Rasulullah SAW said which means:
“Every joint of the human bone must give charity every day when the sun rises: doing justice to two people (reconciling) is charity; helping someone to get on his vehicle, guiding him, and lifting his luggage is charity, good speech is charity; Saying good also includes charity. Likewise, every step of walking towards prayer is a charity. And removing obstacles from the path is charity." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim).
In the month of Ramadan, Allah SWT opens the door of reward as wide as possible. The guarantee of a doubled reward makes many Muslims vying to do good, give charity, and worship in the month of Ramadan. Not only good news about rewards, giving charity is also beneficial for both the giver and the recipient.
